Common Propane Questions
If you think you smell propane in your home, camper, or RV, or anywhere around gas equipment, or if a gas alarm signals the presence of propane, follow these steps right away:
- Put out all smoking materials, open flames, and other sources of ignition, and have everyone leave the building, vehicle, or area.
- Move away without using any electric switches, appliances, thermostats, or telephones.
- Close the gas shutoff valve on the propane tank or cylinder, if it is safe to reach.
- Call your propane supplier and your local fire department from a cell phone or a neighbor's phone.
- Do not turn the propane supply valve back on, and do not re-enter the building, vehicle, or area, even if you no longer smell propane. Let a qualified propane technician or emergency personnel check for escaped gas first.
- Have a properly trained propane service technician repair the leak and confirm the situation is fully resolved. The technician should check all of your gas appliances and re-light any pilots before they are used again.

Yes, we do. Elite delivers propane to commercial and residential customers alike.
You either need to own your tank or have a tank that was installed by Elite Power & Energy Corporation. If another propane supplier owns your tank, call us and we will go over your options.
We offer both Will Call and Auto-Fill delivery. Will Call clients monitor their own propane level and call us to schedule a delivery once it dips below 40%. Auto-Fill customers never need to call, because we monitor the tank and refill it before the level runs low.
If you own your tank, you may choose any supplier to fill it. Auto-Fill customers can simply let us know to suspend delivery.
Absolutely, we would love to. Call Elite today and we will discuss tank sizes, the best installation location, and pricing.
We accept checks and credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
The right tank size depends on how many propane appliances you have and how much you use. We will help you determine the size you need based on those factors.
Usually not. If you have completely run out of gas or need a safety check, you will need to be home. Otherwise we only need to reach the tank on the exterior of your home, so you do not need to be there as long as automatic payment is set up.
Our delivery technician leaves a delivery receipt for you in your door.
The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) promotes the safe, efficient use of propane and educates the public about propane safety. You can reach PERC at 202-452-8975 or visit usepropane.com.
