Stress-free installation by licensed professionals

Elite is committed to providing homeowners with a timely and stress-free installation process. Our licensed Master Electricians and Master Gasfitters will manage every aspect of the installation process, including securing the necessary electrical and gas permits.

Your backup power system will be permanently installed outdoors, similar to an air-conditioning unit. It operates on your home or building’s existing fuel source: natural gas or liquid propane (LP). The power system package comes with two major pieces: the generator and the automatic transfer switch (ATS). The ATS continually monitors the flow of power from your utility supplier. If it senses an interruption or failure, the ATS automatically starts the generator, transfers electrical loads and restores power to your home. When utility power resumes, the ATS reverses the process automatically.

Keep in mind that there are several different ways to install a unit. Elite takes into consideration all possibilities to keep your overall costs within budget. Although we will recommend what we believe to be best, the final layout decision is up to you.

Power system placement requirements:

  • The generator must be connected to the natural gas meter or the propane tank.
  • The ATS must be connected to the existing electrical supply panel.
  • Both the generator and the ATS must be interconnected with electrical lines for controls, battery charger, and service feeders.
  • Minimizing the distance between connected components usually results in a more cost-effective installation.
